Game Day Jalapeño Pepper Poppers!

A lighter version of a game day favorite! Jalapeño Pepper Poppers! with 1/3 fat Philadelphia cream cheese, reduced fat shredded pepper jack cheese, wrapped in turkey bacon. Scrumptious with a kick!

I recently made this for Super Bowl Sunday and everyone enjoyed it very much! I recommend making this for any gathering.


Game Day Jalapeño Pepper Poppers

Ingredients:

  • 12 jalapeños

  • 1 Block (8oz) 1/3 fat Philadelphia cream cheese

  • 1 cup reduced fat pepper jack cheese

  • 24 slices of turkey bacon or regular bacon.

  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper

  • 1 tbsp minced garlic

Directions:

  1. Pre-heat the oven to 350 degrees F. Wash the jalapeños and make sure to dry them. Cut them in halves with the stem on and scoop out the seeds. You should have 24 halves.

  2. In a bowl mix together the block of 1/3 fat Philadelphia cream cheese, reduced fat shredded pepper jack cheese, minced garlic and a pinch of salt and pepper.

  3. Fill the jalapeño boats with the cream cheese mixture. After the boats are filled, wrap them with once piece of turkey bacon all the way around. Spray a glass baking sheet with oil and place the jalapeño boats in the baking sheet.

  4. Place the dish in the oven for 20-25 minutes until the bacon is nice a browned.

  5. Take out the dish, plate and serve!
